joemon
i built a box for three sa-10s subs sealed with 5.15cube b4 displacements and was looking to use aero ports tuned to 32hz with torres it says to use two 4in diameter 10in long. my question is will this cuz alot of port noise? and where would be the best place to place these? is it better to use more than 2 ports? or 1 big port? and the box is in a trunk of a 86 volvo. the power is about 1000wrms. stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/105505-silvia-first-time-build-kenwood/

Joe X
Since your box is already done ans is bigger than recommended even for ported, the following would adjust the volume while providing a port for that box, full spec provided even though only the port data is necessary. Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 33 Hz Vb = 3.8 ft^3 External Height = 14 in External Width = 40 in External Depth = 20 in Port Width = 4 1/4 in Port Height = 12 1/2 in Cut Sheet List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: Front & Back = 40 x 14 Left & Right Sides = Side 1 = 14 1/4 x 12 1/2 Side 2 = 18 1/2 x 12 1/2 Top & Bottom = 40 x 18 1/2 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Side to Side = 24 1/4 x 12 1/2 Assembly guide (generic dimensions):

321slapinbass
Use your current box with three 4" diameter ports 16" long. this will get your box down to ~ 4.38ft^3 with a tuning of ~ 33hz and around 8.5in^2 of port per cube. put these ports on the side of the box like Joe X has shown. 2000 Dodge Durango Subs - (2) SKAR VVX 15 D2's Box - 7.2 ft^3 @ 33hz, 120 in of port Sub amp - Digital Designs M2 @ .5 ohm Mids + Highs - PRV Audio Mids + Highs amp - Hifonics 2000.4 Headunit - Alpine CDE-100 Equalizer - Clarion EQS746 Batteries - Mopar group 27 + (2) C&D 52ah Wiring - 1/0 BIG 3, (2) runs 1/0 Alternator - Singer 250A 147.79 dB @ 35hz - burp - sealed on dash 147.47 dB @ 35hz - music - sealed on dash YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/user/321slapinBass/videos

The reason I picked the slot is to adjust the net volume which is kind of high, of course he is giving little power and it would do fine... until he upgrades the amp... which makes sense to do. joemon
this box is just a mock up for my friends car so we can see how much room there really is in his trunk and he wanted to see what sealed sounded like and than go ported tuned kinda low and wants to use aero ports. once we figure out how we want the specs of the box then we will go buy birch of re-make the box again fully done up. stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/105505-silvia-first-time-build-kenwood/
