You are making this more complex than it has to be. Your options are: 1 amp at 2 ohm, a .5 ohm stable amp, 2 amps at 1 ohm ea or get a d2 recone and run at 1 ohm

Here's the issue with trying to use resistors... They will only generate heat and dissipate energy that your amp is drawing, but that your sub isn't getting. Plus you'd be paying out the bum for resistors large enough to handle the power

Just get an amp that does the power you need at 2 ohms. Will be much easier and you will still have some "untapped" amp power for later on if you upgrade your sub ;)
