Man, I had just one sub installed in my box for a week and other than the cone over-extending more than it should have all loosely-goosey, it worked just fine and still sounded pretty good. I don't think 16cubic feet net is too big. RE recommends 8 cu ft as optimal. The issue is something else.

2006 Cadillac Escalade

2/3 drop on 28" wheels

Two RE SX 18" subs

RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet

Custom carbon fiber sub box

EVERYTHING else is stock, for now

149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500

148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500

147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s

146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18

your port should be at least the same distance from the back wall as the width of your port.

ok your port would need to end at least 14.5 inches from any wall. I also despise port on top. hate it hate it hate it.

wait is it 36wx5hx14.5d? If so you would need to end 5 inches from any wall. that makes it more bearable. I dont like the ratio much it falls within the desired ratio but it doesnt sit well with me.
