sound deadening roof

whats up guys need advice on the best way to stop roof flex and what not. i have a 2001 tahoe and have 2 18s with the possibility of adding 2 more in the near future. i have the load of damp pro that i havent touched yet but was wondering if i should do a layer or 2 of like 1/8" hardboard or pegboard?? if so do i put the damp pro on first then wood? or other way around. oh and i also am gonna be filling all the crossbracing with expanding foam too. i want this roof to be fucking as solid as possible. any advice or suggestions are welcome! thanks

Do a couple layers of hardboard forsure or if ts flat enough some 1/2" mdf

so stick the hardwood to the bare metal roof right? then maybe some deadener? what would you use to hold it up there like liquid nails??

deaden roof first ... hardboard is already solid, so it would be a waste ... thats like putting hardener on dried resin ... its already hard so why add more.

use PL glue to hold the hardboard depending on how thick you went deadner wouldnt do anything

if thats the case then i could just use hardwood on the roof with the expanding foam for the crossbraces and save the deadener for other spots of the truck then.

the back half og my cab has 0 deadner on it, just some hardboard. but its also the roof of my wall and theres a layer or 2 of 2x4s as well lol

Can you post a pic of the PL glue you're talking about? Gonna be doing some of this this weekend.

this is what i use.. good stuff just make sure you hold w/e your gluing till it dries and WEAR GLOVES it takes forever to come off your skin. water "acctivates" it when you try to wash it off... i wear gloves when using it lol
