LSN2meBoom916 Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 ive read your sig many times thats why i ask so much. umm when you did the build for the maxima how did you "glue" the chop mat to the box then resin and how did you cut it, i end up with loose strands everywhere. what if i dont counter sink the screws can i just wood paste over them? 1st: When I did the maxima I didn't even use any mat. Just resin to fill and seal.If you were going to lay mat...you must make a "sandwich" with Resin+mat+resin. So "Paint the area" with resin (already well mixed w/ hardener) and that will make it "sticky" or "tacky" and easier to just put ur pieces of mat up and have them stay, then paint more resin over that making sure to TAP out the air pockets/bubbles. Bubbles will look lighter in color so you can see them easily and just tap the mat down adding resin until the bubbles are gone and it's all a uniform dark/yellow golden brown color. I cut all mat (woven and chop mat) with scissors...regular ones nothing special. I actually use the crappiest set i can cuz they always end up gettin resin on em at some point. 2nd: If you don't counter sink the screws and just fill in over them, they are more likely to still be visible afterward. I would contersink em. DUI...LMAO well im 18 and and when i was 16 i had my lisence for around 3 months and had a fender bender, you know nothing major, tapped someones bumper doing like 10 MPH, no real damage to their car but front end damage to mine. broke my pony off my grill cracked my hood and got their paint on the top of my bumper. lisence was supsended for 30 days for that and a $300 fine. got my lisence back after the 30 days and was heading down to jacksonville with my cousin for 4th of July and on the way back home not even 5 miles from his house, another fender bender, less then 3 MPH, no damage to either car. another $300 fine and lisence suspended for 75 days originally with a permit to drive to and from school cause i lived an hour away from the prep school i was attending at the time. Department of Driver Services here in Ga. stepped in and took my lisence for 6 months and no permit. i had my lisence 3 months again before the 2nd fender bender happened. so i got my lisence back on st. patricks day, and around here st. patties day has over 5 million people supposebly in Savannah. well nothing happened made it through the day. 3 months later i got off work, met with my girl to get my debit card and we went to the waffle house and grabbed a bite to eat. then back to walmart to go get my xbox 360 and on the way home i get pulled over for doing 16 over. 66 in a 50. wrote me a ticket, and i went and paid it. $85 for the ticket and then 3 weeks later i get a letter from Department of Driver Services saying my lisence is suspended for a year and that was last august. so now i get my lisence back July 24th 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. dwright27 Posted February 2, 2008 Author Report Posted February 2, 2008 If you want it nice n smooth, you could take out the screws one side at a time, counter sink each screw a tiny bit, and after putting all the screws back in countersunk, then fill the heads/countersinks with "wood paste" which you can make with wood glue and sawdust. After that drys you can sand em nice and smooth and you'd never know the screws were there. dwright27 Posted February 2, 2008 Author Report Posted February 2, 2008 ok, so i ran outta patience with the "wood paste" and said fuck it. so i started painting and ran outta paint got around half the box done when i ran out. ran to lowes and the same paint i had was over $2 cheaper per can than walmart and while i was in lowes, i picked up a router circle guide to cut my shit perfect so i should be good on all my circles now and the box is totally painted. i sanded all the titebond i could find on it off and got it lookin good and clean then pinted ill post pictures when i get a new cord or a new memory card or when my dad gets his camera and card back 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L.
