van klan Posted December 10, 2012 Author Report Posted December 10, 2012 Iv been running a one ohm load on that old punch amp for about 6 months now and its taken it everyday and im hard on the vol. But i agree i need a one ohm stable amp If hes tailgating let him pass, pull up behind him and rattle his mirrors off....
van klan Posted December 10, 2012 Author Report Posted December 10, 2012 Quick question is this box design including room for a double top where the subs mount it would be 1 1/2in thick would that change the port or would i just subtract 3/4in of the length? If hes tailgating let him pass, pull up behind him and rattle his mirrors off....
Joe X Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 Actually I could provide you with a cutsheet for a double baffle version but it's overkill for 400W subs, you could even just do an extra layer on that box, tuning would be changed so little that you wouldn't notice it.. and yes you are running the remaining channel of the RF to half it's rated minimum impedance and for that reason you may be getting (along with the fact that RF amps are underrated) probably 600W or a little more, if it's getting really hot likely it will quit at some point.
Rmichael91 Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 Hoping you accounted for the slant of the backseat while still having some leg room?

Rmichael91 Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 Hoping you accounted for the slant of the backseat while still having some leg room? OP did, post #19. Overlooked that one. I had a 96 so that was a slight curveball along with the seat tracks. But made it all functionable.. 4 rearview mirror kits and a set of indash 5 1/4"s it kicked the bucket. Gotta love moving all that air!
van klan Posted December 10, 2012 Author Report Posted December 10, 2012 Yeah that thing has great acoustics for subs it pounds now with a sealed box cant wait till i build the box either start today or this weekend. If hes tailgating let him pass, pull up behind him and rattle his mirrors off....
van klan Posted December 10, 2012 Author Report Posted December 10, 2012 Any opinions on firing everything up Vs. Firing at the hatch? If hes tailgating let him pass, pull up behind him and rattle his mirrors off....
Rmichael91 Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 I tried up, but I carried tools and some other stuff so I settled with at the hatch. Did the job for me. Had a 4 Chan tucked under the drivers seat and it wasn't noticeable
van klan Posted December 10, 2012 Author Report Posted December 10, 2012 I have my amp under the 3rd row seat along with the bat cap and its hidden nicely but if i build this box i wont be able to flip it over to have it fire at the hatch, the box would be to close to the hatch thats why im asking if i should just redisign the box to fire at the hatch im looking for bass outta two 12in cvrs i know im askng alot haha If hes tailgating let him pass, pull up behind him and rattle his mirrors off....
