Rmichael91 Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 Just gotta work with what we've got man. Everything I had in my 96 was 5-10yrs old lol. I still have everything but got a new car, and I'm about to be upgrading to all Skar Audio gear. Should see some good results with them firing up (:. -Ryan
Joe X Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 Port back has a disadvantage in some vehicles and that is a rear gate rattling and is usually hard to deal with, now here is another suggestion for subs up/port back, this one just needs 3 1/4" of free airspace in front of the port, I try not to recommend the port across the bottom enclosure since is harder to build right and has a higher component count: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 34.5 Hz Vb = 4.8 ft^3 External Height = 15.75 in External Width = 51 in External Depth = 16.75 in Port Width = 17 1/2 in Port Height = 3 1/4 in Cut Sheet List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: 2 x Top & Bottom (3 parts) = 51 x 16 3/4 Left & Right Sides = 15 1/4 x 13 1/2 Front & Back = 51 x 13 1/2 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 12 x 19 Extension = 2 x 19 Port Left Side Assembly: 12 x 3 1/4 6 x 3 1/4 Port Right Side Assembly: 12 x 3 1/4 6 x 3 1/4
van klan Posted December 12, 2012 Author Report Posted December 12, 2012 Ok i have 18 1/2 to the rear hatch with about 5in to spair for a port facing it and since this is my first ported box im going to stay away from your last box joe not that i couldnt do it just dont want any mess ups and re do it. My new dementions would be 49width 18 1/2 depth and 15in tall. And if at all possible id like a center port facing the hatch and the subs firing up lol sorry for all the changes If hes tailgating let him pass, pull up behind him and rattle his mirrors off....
