quick electrical ??

so I'm thinking about putting a small system back into my first car. she hasn't had any "major" tunes in almost 15 years. so I'm thinking it "might" be time again ?

I have some Sundown stuff that I bought for my work truck, but decided against building, so it might find a new home. I have a SAX-1200 and a SAX100.4. What is my best plan for electrical on this car - 1977 Olds Delta 88 w/ 403 V8, A/C car? Yes, that is the original paint scheme! The stock alt is only rated at 63 amps so that obviously has to go. But what else should be done to power these amps appropriately? Is a big 3, second batt, etc necessary for a car that basically has NOTHING electrical in it - ECM, ABS, etc, etc?

I would do better underhood battery with big charge cable and grounds and a better alternator and call it a day ... ive only got a xs power d5100(only sise that fits in my cars stock location) and m3chman 240a with big 3 and 2 runs of 0ga for my 75x6 rms aura and audioque 2200d

I agree, a nice alt and good battery up front should be all you need. a lot of people dont like doing this, but I've never seen a problem personally, you could just add the extra battery and keep the stock one. price wise its the same but you get a little more performance. you would be fine either way though.

BTW, I thought the air hose and stuff on the ground was gigantic jumper cables at first. lol

160amp alt is all you'd really need. Get the biggest battery under the hood, and big 3, and you'll be set. I'd hit up Singer alts cause he should be able to build you an 160amp alt if you wanted to save some money if the rest of the companies don't have a smallish alternator.

A pair of SA12s (or 15s if yo'd like that) and a set of SA Components and you'll be set!

Bobby - I've have a pair of SA-10 v1 that I bought with the amps, so that will be good. And some Alphasonik PCT components for mids & highs. That will be plenty enough, I'm not tryin to be a groundpounder, just some good beat for the rare occasions that I actually drive the car, it gets enough attention as it is.
