Quick warming HID's?

I'm looking to get HID's in my truck, but the only problem is that I plan on adding a high beam flasher to my truck for responding to the station, and I'm not sure if they would play well with HID's...can anyone give some input? Or should I look forward to some bright halogen bulbs in my high beams and just HID the low beam and (when added) fog lights?

I have a 2001 Silverado, so my headlights are split high/low beam, so I may just get HID lows and just get brighter halogen highs...unless I'm missing something, I haven't slept yet so I apologize

That is what you want to do. The wig-wag style flashers or other similar units will put not only the ballasts through hell but the HID bulbs too, and would shorten life time of the units drastically with constantly igniting the bulbs.

Those 2 in one bulbs are bogus... They claim a high beam light, but the actual bulb size, and filaments dont even compare to a traditional headlight bulb, they are more on par with the cheaper fog lights bulbs you buy for $20 at walmart, also sometimes light output from them is even worse due to the obstruction of the hid bulb. Ive only installed 2 sets like that which where brought to me by customers, and it wasnt long until a high/low style hid bulb was ordered to replace them.

I meant split as in highs in one section, and lows in the other. Just probably going to do HID lows and get some bright halogen highs for the wigwag's..
