Roberto Mendez Posted December 23, 2012 Report Posted December 23, 2012 I have a 2000 Ford Taurus and right now I'm guessing I have around 400lbs of sound system in it. This is causing my springs to compress and creating camber that wears the insides of my tires off quickly. I plan on going even bigger with the system and estimate an end weight of 1000lbs just in the system and box. I want to know if there are any good ways for me to beef up the suspension on this car.

alaskanzx5 Posted December 23, 2012 Report Posted December 23, 2012 stiffer springs struts and shocks with some good bushings. dont forget that you can have an alignment done to correct the camber. its about $60-100 at most shops i believe. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
ds1919 Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 they also sell shims to compensate for camber in the rear, which partly is what you need, and stiffer springs. thats gonna change the setup tho with the fronts, dunno how the drivability will be, unless you get a complete front and rear performance suspension setup. I always do this in all my sports cars, I hate stock! KYB gas shocks also will help, and are relatively cheap comparativley. Oh yeah! there's air shocks too.
bassfreake Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 idk if you're still looking for anything for this but I was told to put cargo springs on my 2004 Taurus and I'm looking at running at least 500lbs in mine... btw... wtf you got in that thing that you're lookin at 700lbs and upgrading to 1000??? lol I'm working on running 2 65lb subs a box partially made of 1"-1.5" plexi and maybe 2 or 3 50lb amps plus 2 or 3 batteries MOOG makes cargo springs for our cars the number is MOOG #CC859 Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol It's warming up enough that the donut-punching cyclist douchenozzles are getting their two wheeled fagmobiles out.
