Gains are set , cool to turn eq off flat?

Keep everything flat. If you need more of a certain frequency then add more of the speaker that plays that.

My impala has stock bose speakers and stock amp , they sound fine , but not on flat...so i got to spend more cash on a amp and speakers , just so my subs wont clip?

One thing that works is turn down all the frequencies except for the one you're trying to boost. You'll lose some output, but it's safe.

for what your trying to do i would just leave the bass part of the eq flat
