Skrilla Posted December 31, 2012 Author Report Posted December 31, 2012 what sub and how much power and you still need to tick up/up edit what car? 60" width is near impossible for most HDC318's on an AQ2200. It's for my dodge ram. With 2 common walls and same box height and same 10 inch wide port you can only go 14 inches long. Wait, I thought I could go up to 18.99" on a 2 common, and up to 13.99 on a 3 common? If my port is 17" long on a 2 common, that leaves 7" from the bottom. 2 HDC3 18's AQ2200D
AMI CUSTOMS Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 With 2 common walls and same box height and same 10 inch wide port you can only go 14 inches long. why is this a 2 common wall port splits into 2 port to create a T-port and in doing so the width changes to 5" across the back at 18.99" long there is no L2 and that is the length of the port at 19" the L2 is 0.75" (port wall thickness) giving you a port length 24.75" so 19"-24.75" is a non achievable port length Really, did you look at his design, he isn't doing a T shaped port. DustinBolt Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 you cant go closer to the back of the box than the narrowest width of the port so 10" in your case. 1997 BMW 528i Fi ssd 12 6th order box Build Log- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/144835-rebuild-in-the-bmw-6th-order-time-update-1113/

AMI CUSTOMS Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 The port opening has to constant throughout the entire length, so your port is 10 inches wide, that means the leg of the port can only go down 14 inches, in your case 12.5 since your baffle is 1.5 inch thick being part of the port length. That would put it 10 inches from the back wall of the box making the opening and exit of the port the same which they have to be. john253a Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 his first drawing was side port (*3 common wall) if he does a centre port (2 common wall) a 17" port length is doable (an L1 of 15.5) giving him an opening of 7" on both sides, equal to the same as 14" of opening

john253a Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 do you plane on port on side or port in centre?
Skrilla Posted December 31, 2012 Author Report Posted December 31, 2012 Center port (2 common wall). 2 HDC3 18's AQ2200D

I'm just a little confused with getting two different answers... I know I can't go closer than 10" from the back wall on a 3 common port, so does that mean I can go up to 5" deep, each side, from the back wall, with a 2 common port, which is equivalent to 10"? 2 HDC3 18's AQ2200D
