dereileak
I run 4 sa12s on 2 saz3500d's with each amp seeing a half ohm. I have the gains set conservatively and don't abuse them. I have never burnt the coils at all, but over time I did rip the suspension from more than a years worth of use. You will be fine if your smart about it. how many cubes are you running, and what tuning are you at? You will be fine if your smart about it. how many cubes are you running, and what tuning are you at? I'm at 6.5 after woofer and port displacement. The box is tuned to 35hz and peaks at 42-44ish on an SPL tone. Best numbers I've seen to date is a 155.8 at 43 hz on the dash sealed. If I had to guess dropping two woofers and two amps I could still do 152's. So you should definitely be able to get loud, just be careful. Socky
Bro ran his 4 sa 15s on a stetsom 11k for about a month, now hes about to run them on 4 aq 2200ds, they get smelly, but we never turn it down, we want them to pop so we can put aluminum coils in them. But they just handle the power with ease. Raptorman
Surprised no one has come in here saying "If you have to ask, don't do it." Good job guys They will take that power just fine. Just keep the signal clean. And there's a vid on youtube of an SA-15 taking 7.5k rms burps. Don't know where it is now though. Its just so insane they rate it at 600 rms, they like way way way underrate them I guess, what do you guys think of a single Z v.3 18" sub over 2 sa-12 subs? Im not sure what the z v.3 costs, I got a pretty good price on 2 sa-12 setup with a dealer, but 1 18 is more cone area by a little bit and would hit lower Quote 2006 Mazda3 Hatchback Black 5 Spd ManualPioneer 4300DVD2 Sundown SA-12 (34hz Tune, 3.22 cubes, 14.5 inches per cube, Triple Baffle)Kicker 10ZX2500.1 (2845 RMS) Sub AmpKicker 11ZX650.4 (705 RMS) Mid Amp -- (3 Amps)Kicker KQ3 Active CrossoverKicker KQ30 EqualizerKicker 09QS60.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones)Kicker 09QS65.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones) - (3 Sets)2/0 Gauge Electron Beam Technologies (3 Runs, 2 +, 1 -) 1/0 Gauge KNU Kollasal Flex (1 Run for -) 300 Ft Kicker X-Series 16 Gauge Speaker WireXS Power D3400 (Rear)XS Power D3100 (Front)Singer Externally Regulated Alternator (Being Built)+ The Love for Car Audio and BASS <3UBL Build Log <------- Click Here-------> Normal Build Log (For Comments)
Skrilla
1 18 is more cone area by a little bit and would hit lower The size of the sub has nothing to do with how low it can get. Quote 2 HDC3 18's AQ2200D
adam6604
id do the 18" BUT the 18 needs a bigger box, so whatever you have room for in a proper box im sure you'll be happy. dereileak
Well both subs had failures at the tinsel leads, time for recones, seems like sundown didn't desgin enough slack in the tinsel near where it goes into the spider, got strained and broke on both subs, a little disappointed with that Quote 2006 Mazda3 Hatchback Black 5 Spd ManualPioneer 4300DVD2 Sundown SA-12 (34hz Tune, 3.22 cubes, 14.5 inches per cube, Triple Baffle)Kicker 10ZX2500.1 (2845 RMS) Sub AmpKicker 11ZX650.4 (705 RMS) Mid Amp -- (3 Amps)Kicker KQ3 Active CrossoverKicker KQ30 EqualizerKicker 09QS60.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones)Kicker 09QS65.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones) - (3 Sets)2/0 Gauge Electron Beam Technologies (3 Runs, 2 +, 1 -) 1/0 Gauge KNU Kollasal Flex (1 Run for -) 300 Ft Kicker X-Series 16 Gauge Speaker WireXS Power D3400 (Rear)XS Power D3100 (Front)Singer Externally Regulated Alternator (Being Built)+ The Love for Car Audio and BASS <3UBL Build Log <------- Click Here-------> Normal Build Log (For Comments)
smashedz28
Lol guy comes in wanting to throw twice the rated power at his subs and everyone tells him to go for it.. OP. when your shit blows blame these guys. Just cause someone on YouTube can do it doesn't mean you can. I run a set of sa12s on a bc2k. Can't see much more coming from these things. Nice subs but your box will need to be designed around everything else. I'm not saying it can't be done just be careful if you want your stuff to last.
