mattc3366
Im at work and I showed my co-worker a picture of a dc 9k . I said imagine the power you need to back that up. He said that that amp full volume will only pull 63 amps. And says my Crescendo 2k will only pull 18 amps full tilt. Can someone just post and tell this guy he's nuts and if snafu or anyone on here has the equation for calculating amperage draw with car audio amplifiers. Im going crazy. mattc3366
This guy drives me crazy when he talks about audio. His other belief is wiring speakers in parallel keeps the ohm load the same. Lol. I said I think you mean voltage with batteries but he says no. O well what can you do. Now im gonna hunt down this equation for amp draw. I know snafu posted it somewhere. subwoofers - two eclipse 88120s box - 3.4 cubes tuned to 32 hz amps - aq1200 and pheonix gold zx450 New build : 2 obsidian audio 15s same amp 6.1 cubic foot box tuned to 32 hz in a civic hatch
mattc3366
He did amperage equals voltage divided by ohm load lol. He said everyone with more than 1 alternator is crazy and ppl with 2 or more are ruining there cars because it doubles voltage with every alternator. subwoofers - two eclipse 88120s box - 3.4 cubes tuned to 32 hz amps - aq1200 and pheonix gold zx450 New build : 2 obsidian audio 15s same amp 6.1 cubic foot box tuned to 32 hz in a civic hatch
Guest
tell your friend to take electronics 101 at his local college. the professor should be able to slap the dumbass out of him. 120*18 = around 2000w. yeah your friend WOULD be correct, if car amplifiers ran off of 120v AC and not 12v DC. big fucking difference LOL. and voltage doesn't increase when you parallel (which is what you do when you have multiple batteries and alternators). current doubles when you parallel. voltage doubles when you series. tell your friend Kranny said to listen to me and stop being an idiot. CleanSierra
What size fuse is in the amp? There isn't an onboard fuse on those amps, you fuse externally, for 9K.... Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
