Hyundia Tiburon 01 - Alternator Questions

Recommended Posts

Take a look at my "garage" to see what my setup is so you are more familiar with my system.

Anyways, I have my Rockford Fosgate T1500.1bdCP and a Pioneer GM-D9500F 800W RMS amplifier. I am just wondering if I should get a new alternator If so, how many amps.. And where may I be able to find this alternator..

I have a Hyundia Tiburon 01.

Thanks ahead of time.

It definitely wouldn't hurt to get a battery under the hood sometime soon. As far as the alt goes, it all depends on the alt you have in the car. If you upgraded battery to a good beefy group 31 battery and kept the stock alt then You would be fine as far as running that amp in that car.

Did you have it in a Tiburon?

And I've done some upgrades to the system sense this post.

I now have 2 t1500's and my 800 watt amp for the doors.

I also have ran some 1 awg from front to back and added a Optima Yellow Top in the back.

Yes a 97 Tiburon fx. barely anyone makes ho alternators for Tiburons.

Youshould of went with blue top optimas if u where going with that brand xs power I have heard hold voltage a lot better. I'm going to save up for a d3400 underhood then eventually 2 d3100 for the trunk when I save up and run my 4 skarr vvx 12s and a sk4500 will be sweet evently.

The bdcp pull a good amount of power. Fuae rating for the 1500.1 is 200amps. If you alt is 170 or higher I would do the big 3 and under hood batt. If you arw dropping below about 13.5volts a second batt would help but an alt would be my next step. If you woild rather get an alt now look for somthing 170 or more from a company with a goos rep.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
