Arod45 Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 I have a dd m2b amp and its pulling to much for my stock electrical. And I only have enough money for either another battery or alternator. Which would be more helpful? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

Integra_boomer Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 1st things first.. get your big three done ASAP. Common thing to do. When you add an amp that is capable of pulling 200A or more for ex. Its trying to pull that all through the stock ground wires and whatnot, (which on my honda consisted of an 8g wire from the (-) batt to the chassis. Thats how it came factory and the design was not engineered for extras. Yes im aware you will not see 200A or draw being stock alt but it will certainly try draw another thing the DD line are rated @12v so 1700rms is not bad. I would do big three and definetly a battery first. You dnt really want a good alt and a crappy batt just my opinion. But with that amp your not off to a bad start. Guest Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 x2 on big 3. that should always be the first thing you do. an alternator will solve almost all of your voltage drop. a battery will just let you play a little longer before dropping to X volts.
