should be good, if by chance it doesnt completely stop the voltage drop for most part it would be a really good start.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

No matter what your going to have some voltage drop, unless you can produce more amperage then your stereo and vehicle needs to run at max load via a high amperage alternator, however you will need reserve and thats where the battery will come into play.

Before buying a D3100, I would suggust looking at its dimensions and be sure it will fit under your hood. Its a rather large battery.

The d3100 is a good battery, way more then you need for a 1500 watt amp, so it should do the job you need done well.

Doing the big 3 upgrade will help a little bit, but not much since Im assuming your running a stock alternator, which is probably about 105amps, and the factory cable used can support that amperage load without a doubt, so upgrading the charge wire from your alternator to your battery wont make the alternator make any more power.

an h/o load could help a lot. specaily if you plan on adding more to the system like a 4 channel for the doors. like you said though the stock batt needs replacing so i would go that route. chances are a d3100 will fit with little to no moddifications.

what truck is it anyways?
