CommonSyns Posted January 18, 2013 Report Share Posted January 18, 2013 I'm just curious if I can use CCA 1/0 awg through out my entire car as opposed to OFC 1/0 awg. The amplifier I am using is the Skar Audio 4500.1D at 1 ohm. Would it make a difference if I used CCA? If so how big of a difference or will it be so unnoticeable that I wont care. I would like to maximize the output of the Skar 4500.1D. I once read somewhere that 1/0 awg CCA is the equivalent to 4 awg OFC wire, Is this true? I'm just looking to get maximum performance from the amplifier. So like you know 1 run of 1/0 CCA cannot carry the same amount of current as 1 run of 1/0 ofc. I have talked to Mike Singer from Singer Alternators he suggested a 250A Alternator. I am probably getting the alternator from him.
