soundstream15 Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 So Monday Was very good, high of 6 and over night was -1 Tuesday was just a little warmer not much, party sunny, anyway I pulled part of my back seat down and had some frost on my amp, a few other times my amp has condensation on it, along with battery. Is this normal. I live in PA. I'm sure this happens, it's also a trunk
Raptorman Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 D: that's not good. There's a coating that overclockers use on their components so the condensation from the liquid nitrogen and dry ice and whatnot doesn't fry their boards and chips. I don't know what it's called. But maybe you can spray that over your amps guts? 1996 GMC Sonoma Four Fi BTL Neo 18's In 2:1 6th Order Bandpass 2 Ampere 5k's @ .5 TEAM FI TEAM #LITHIUMCANTDEMO On 10/20/2013 at 0:37 AM, KillaCam said: Fucking with a Prius driver is like making fun of a disabled kid. SnowDrifter Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 I'm pretty sure it's just dieletric grease. I wonder if you can get it in a spray can since applying it to the entire board front and back isn't exactly practical. I'd look into how the moisture got in there in the first place though. Or if it's just from the air and your trunk it sealed, get some painters dessicant and keep it in there. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
soundstream15 Posted January 25, 2013 Author Report Posted January 25, 2013 Ok. Part of my back seat was down and I never fully shut it so maybe when I have my heat going it gets into the trunk? I know my trunk leaked before. On the passenger side. I stopped the leak but water is on the carpet, it's moist, it hasn't dried out yet bc the weather...trunk is not sealed, amp is right behind the seat so maybe from my heater running? Idk lol
