What amps should he use and how should he do it? Skrilla Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 That's a lot of power to run to those subs. I'd recommend the AQ2200D. It's on sale right now and it's pretty damn cheap, but he won't be getting 1K watts each sub since the final load will be 2ohm. 2 HDC3 18's AQ2200D

The deal is that I had one if them running off of a kicker 500.1 amp at 1 ohms running 500 watts rms and one of the terminals melted and also it was not close to as loud as I though it would be, I don't think 2 of them at 1000 watts rms would be either, I went into a sub store and told the owner and he said the terminal melting is no big deal to just attach my speaker wires directly to the voice coil leads and to run them at 1000 watts rms a piece Your thoughts? Very open to any suggestions
