wccfan12 Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 From what I've heard the soundstream dtr amps are some pretty stout amps. Hell I run Hifonics amps for my subs and mids cause I'm saving for some AQ stuff, and mine don't have issues so it must be something else IMO. What kind of fuse are you running?? I had this happen to my old subwoofer amp a couple years ago and it turns out the fuse holder was messed up and everytime a high note hit came through the amp would shut off and when I had my volt meter on the fuse holder it was reading 13.8 on one side and like 11 something on the other and the amp was seeing like ten volts. Hope this helps a little bit... wellington Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 My RF p500-2 was doing this. turns out the power supply was going out. it would do the exact same thing except it would only play at a low volume that was barely noticeable 2010 HHR LT - DNX 6160 - sony xec-700 - sony xm-4040 for door mids - XM-6020 for tweets in a-pillar - saz1500d v1 - VVME RD-12 1.75 f^3 32hz guru and president of the "cheap asses trying to beat up the block with bargain bin woofers" club
One Way Posted January 31, 2013 Author Report Posted January 31, 2013 Ok let's slow this thing down. End of the day it's going out. More than likely the reason is by what 8ight said (not mad by the way man) that soundstream isn't good quality and it finally gave out after almost 3 years. I was happy with it and now it's time to move on, have another amp on the way to replace it so its all good. T-line build- http://www.stevemead...e-t-line-build/

ALPINE408 Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 LMAO the amp is just "going out" umm negative you have other issues I would say wiring frist orr clipped to helll songs... yes the songs you are playing can be clipped to hell and have nothing to do with your setting.... But if you are dead set on the amp is "going out" I would be happy to pay for shipping and you can send it to me Have you ever had your woofers blown?
Raptorman Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 Just wanted to point out that if you are set at full range, I don't think the crossovers on your amp works. If I'm correct, it needs to be set at high pass. Don't quote me on that. But that's what I do for my 4 channel to run my door speakers and it sounds great and no issues. 1996 GMC Sonoma Four Fi BTL Neo 18's In 2:1 6th Order Bandpass 2 Ampere 5k's @ .5 TEAM FI TEAM #LITHIUMCANTDEMO On 10/20/2013 at 0:37 AM, KillaCam said: Fucking with a Prius driver is like making fun of a disabled kid. ALPINE408 Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 This issue can also happen from over powering the speakers And raptorman you are corrrect FULLRANGE means just that from 20hz to 20k hz the full range turning your Xovers off but he said he was using the Xover on his deck annd we all know how good those are lol Have you ever had your woofers blown?
taylorpro Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 I'm willing to bet you have a pinched/shorted speaker wire somewhere. Work from the amp all the way to speaker and see if you can see any visible damage. Could also try to isolate by only hooking up one side at a time to see if it's one specific side/channel that's having issues. Could also place speakers right next to the amp with short speaker wire to by pass the wire ran in the vehicle. That rules out the wire. 1999 Ford ExplorerTeam Sundown Audio4th 2012 Db Drag WF Street Stock 150.8dbYoutube Channel!http://www.youtube.com/user/BoomyurblownOperation 156 No wall Build Log!http://www.stevemead...x/#entry2196123
