I have not tried port to the side as there is no room on the sides for the port to breathe. I have great success with port to side in my integra though.... If your not hitting the numbers you hoped for, then you need more power. If the subs are being pushed to their full potential, then it's needless to say just get a set of 12's that can handle more.
