keith Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 Hi guys i was wondering is it ok to not fuse your amp i have been looking at a lot of different installs and a lot of people dont add the external fuse to the amps that are not already fused any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Watch the bass Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 No it´s not ok to not fuse. Quoeting Steve meade to the theme again and again "use fuses incase of the danger of carbbq" out of the RF Magazin. "in the abundance of water, the fool is thirsty" Bob Marley
WastedTalent Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 What I never understood was why wouldn't you want to? Just added security of not blowing your amp and anything up to having a car bbq. $10-30 worth of equipment (fuse block, fuse, etc) vs car worth + equipment + valuables left inside? Hmm. Guest Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 because some people don't like the added resistance of a fuse along the power line. from what I've heard. others are just confident.
P4killer_ Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 Yea a lot of hardcore SPL people want the least amount of resistance as possible and have zero fuses in the entire car. But there is many a picture of someones vehicle burning to the ground Setup: 2010 Hyundai Elantra Factory Unit via 4 chan NVX LOC Excessive Amperage "H/O" Alt Xs D3400/ Xs XP3000 Big 3. 2 Runs of +, 2 Runs of - DD M3b and 2 12" AQ HDC4s
