adding fuses to amplifiers

Hi guys i was wondering is it ok to not fuse your amp i have been looking at a lot of different installs and a lot of people dont add the external fuse to the amps that are not already fused any insight would be greatly appreciated.

No it´s not ok to not fuse. Quoeting Steve meade to the theme again and again "use fuses incase of the danger of carbbq" out of the RF Magazin.

What I never understood was why wouldn't you want to? Just added security of not blowing your amp and anything up to having a car bbq. $10-30 worth of equipment (fuse block, fuse, etc) vs car worth + equipment + valuables left inside? Hmm.

because some people don't like the added resistance of a fuse along the power line. from what I've heard.

others are just confident.

Yea a lot of hardcore SPL people want the least amount of resistance as possible and have zero fuses in the entire car. But there is many a picture of someones vehicle burning to the ground
