Maxim Posted February 5, 2013 Report Share Posted February 5, 2013 Going with Intel hardware has demanded a bit of a price premium for the last 5 or so years, whether it be for their laptop chips, desktop components, or even their server hardware. That price gap has only widened more and more over the last few years. I can't ever recall AMD making desktop chips that cost anywhere near $1000 or more, whereas Intel has dropped several models in that price range over the last few generations. Console hardware also doesn't really benefit from the performance boost of $300+ Intel chips as much as PC's do. The games are generally written to run on that console's hardware specifically. When a game studio knows exactly what hardware they are coding for they can optimize the game for that hardware, which is why games like Uncharted and The Last of Us for the PS3 and Halo 4 and Forza 4 for the Xbox 360 can still look so good on consoles that don't have a fraction of the graphics or processing horsepower a proper gaming PC has. wtf is lolcats? I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers. I was hoping for 150 .
