bass_stalker Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 me and my friend were having a discussion on strapping amps and we both came to the conclusion that we dont know shit about how that affects the final ohm load. i was under the impression that it halfs the ohm load, so if i had two d2's wired to .5ohm each amp would be seeing .25ohm. am i wrong? Wicks Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 Strapping 2 amps is exacty the same as bridging a single 2ch amp into a mono amp. When two amps are strapped, one amp is out of phase with the other thusly doubling your final voltage across the load. Same rules apply as they would when bridging the 2ch amp. The lowest rated impedance of the channel or amp should be doubled when bridging/strapping.
