Ok, weird question maybe to some but I wonder this:

ok say you got an active 3 way set up front . say rainbow profi kicks, the minimum RMS is 75, the RMS 125, and max is 150.

and lets say you are running a ZED 6 ch amp which is 190x6.

how would you set the final settings of gain with a DD-1........I ask because I am assuming that if you "set it and forget it" with the DD1 you might be running WAY too much power to the speaker, especially the tweets and mids. ya don't want to blow something up... How do you know what the "watt output" using the DD1. or does it even matter?

I mean absolutely NO disrespect by asking this question, just trying to learn

if your mids/highs are being overpowered, use a different gain overlap track.

i can put a 1500 watt amp on a 500 watt woofer and be just fine, at maximum deck power, using the -5 track. For mids/highs, try the zero db track if you feel -5 is too much for them.

0db all the way around is so damn tame though :D ...do that only if you are REALLY REALLY overpowering the system. Seriously, -5 on the bass should be safe for almost any situation.

I figured the overlap would help, I just didn't know for sure.

and yes it would be 3 way active.

I am in the early, early planning ......and I like the idea of the rainbows, and the idea of the levethian even more, maybe I just need to rethink one or the other.

and in NO WAY was I expecting this many replies this fast, that was awesome!
