kaydennicholson Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 I just got my kinetik 2400 in the mail a few days back and made a new box for the subs. I hooked up the battery, with the 0 gauge from the battery up front to the positive post on the kinetik in the back (two fuse holders, 1 front, 1 back) and then ran a ground from the battery to a good ground under my back seat. I was going to ground my amp to the back battery however didnt have enough 0 gauge left so i grounded it with the battery ground, is this okay?

kaydennicholson Posted February 11, 2013 Author Report Posted February 11, 2013 okay and i thought i saw a little dimming when i cranked it up and my amp is a hifonics BRZ2400 but subs are 2 ohm DVCs so theyre at a 2 ohm load so the amp is only pushing 1700 watts and is on the 2400 battery. should i be getting dimming? and it was only playing for a sec so im not even sure if it was dimming the lights. just didnt want to wake up the neighborhood so I'll check again tomorrow. and yes i grounded my amp on the same bolt i grounded the battery bc i needed about 3 more feet of 0 gauge to get it back to the battery post.

8ight Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 If your alternator can't supply current demands for the amp you will drop to battery voltage, you will see dimming unless you have HIDs. I'm gonna hate
kaydennicholson Posted February 11, 2013 Author Report Posted February 11, 2013 yeah i plan on installing HIDs, only $30 for the bulbs and the ballast but..... i have a 2010 malibu and have to take my whole front bumper off just to get to my bulbs.... why ine the world the make it that way, i dont know.... Gay Chevrolet... lol
