Integra_boomer
So i have a 96 civic 4 door running two 12" lvl 3 with psi soft part upgrades. I have always done builds in the 4 door cabs this one just like the otheres i did a trunk box fired forward sealed off often called "trunk wall". in my experience when i tune for music 34-36hz im get no more than 144db. on 2k. On the DCs ive only got a 1200d powing them and upgrading to more power soon. the box is built big like 4 cu net. but dc recommends 1.5 per so when i double the power should i build a small box and butload of power and tune to 38-40? bc i always peak at 42-43hz on the tl so by building a box tuned 2-4hz withing my peak it should meter louder in theory. my question is would tuning that high sacrifice music quality? and have any civic owners out there metered musically loud with this kind of setup? I want to be the one with a good streetbeating setup with respectible numbers vs the guy who builds a fart box to get a high number. any opinons and tips guys? 1995 Integra GSR (DB8) Pioneer 3200-DVD 6.5 rockford fosgate 2-way fronts 6.5 rockford fosgate 3-way rear saz-3000D (2) 12" SA-12s

Swordlordboy1234
I'm not a meter guy. I dislike tones in all shapes and forms. So my opinion is tune that sombich low. I'm at 31 and I love it. When I do my wall with double my power and double my woofers I'm gonna make sure I'm tuned nice and low.m30-31 max. Integra_boomer
takes lots of powa to play low. with a box in my car tuned to 36 the low notes sound good but not loud. the car still peaks low 40s. idk if its the fact of being 2 12s or just not enough power but never had luck with lows. ik all the guys that build walls do but they have prolly 4x cone area at least and a butload of power. my power will b a dd m2b or m3a. 1995 Integra GSR (DB8) Pioneer 3200-DVD 6.5 rockford fosgate 2-way fronts 6.5 rockford fosgate 3-way rear saz-3000D (2) 12" SA-12s
Swordlordboy1234
Lows do take power. But I got magic low's dust from BassHeadsEnt. I can play 26 hz that shakes the shit out of my seat and 24 hz that makes my driver and passenger side windows flex about an inch in each direction. On just 2 12's REAR firing on a 2.5k And I can still play thug motivation (prob my loudest song) My old YouTube channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/SwordLords1234?feature=mhee My old build log : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/161872-96-accord-b2-sundown-sky-high-dc-power-re-re-build-for-heatwave/page-37 My New Build - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/207041-2016-mazda-6-sql-build/ 2016 Mazda 6 Touring JL Fix 86 - OEM signal correction B2 prototype DSP 6to8 B2 Ref63 - 3 way active set 2 B2 Class H quattro's 1 B2 Zero.5R @.5 2 B2 HNv3 12 d2 B2 SLIP40 - Lithium in the trunk Northstar Group 35 under the hood 100ft 2/0 welding cable 30ft 4ga welding cable 20ft 8ga welding cable All stinger OFC speaker wire Soundrive custom RCA's Tons of attention to detail.... Integra_boomer
i was hoping to hear some input with guys that are strictly trunk gurus. i want to get the most numbers i can while keeping it musically sound too. Thorshammer is an excellent example of what i kind of want to do but on a lower level of course. just having hard luck finding anyone who has had experience doing this in a civic. im not into the rear firing setups anymore. 1995 Integra GSR (DB8) Pioneer 3200-DVD 6.5 rockford fosgate 2-way fronts 6.5 rockford fosgate 3-way rear saz-3000D (2) 12" SA-12s
RobertR
I want to start by saying I am not a trunk guru.....yet. My car (325I bmw) is around the same size as a 4 door civic and also peaks around 43 hz. Im running two 12's firing into the cab, tuned to 37 hz. Personally I am very happy with it musically. It will get pretty loud for only being a pair of sa-12's on 2k. I haven't had a chance to get it metered yet and I wont try and guess what its hitting but I have seen similar set ups get real close to 50 on a TL. Hope this helps. Pic is early into my build. Just to give you an idea of what Im running.
