Naked chics doing hair tricks, unboxing, real world tests on new gear, Naked chics unboxing new gear and running tests on said gear while doing hair tricks. Seriously though....anybody can make a video reciting the manual of products but real results are what do it for me. Throw a sub on term lab or clamp an amp while discussing the specs of the gear. Wanna sell more product.....make video's that gives viewers as close to the feel of real world experience as you can. There are already so many un-knowns about how gear will sound in any given application that I personally wont buy anything that I have not experienced first hand. I would feel much more comfortable buying products that I have seen in action. If I want the manual I can google it. If I want to compare two pruducts I can simply open a second tab in my browser.

Sa-12
RobertR replied to Mr Bigolsworth's topic in Sundown Audio - GREAT Amps/Subs! GREAT Customer Service!
O scope, dd1, clamp and dmm. Probably better to take it to somebody and have them walk you through it the first few times. Unless of course your wanting to learn how to re cone a sub as well. Then just use the ear-o-meter. Who doesnt love a little clip? -

Had two dual 4 on a RE XTX 3000.1 at 1 ohm. Getting ready to recone them to dual 2's and run a DD m1c. Love these subs. -

standard coil vs spl coil

good question.....I have no idea. -
getting ready to re cone my sa-12's from d4 to d2 and Im trying to decide if I should go ahead and pay for the spl coils. How much louder are they? How much sound quality will I loose with the spl coils? Some people say they will get loud but sound like garbage. Others say they dont really sound that bad. Any thoughts?

Trouble contacting sundown
RobertR replied to RobertR's topic in Sundown Audio - GREAT Amps/Subs! GREAT Customer Service!
Thank you for the fast response. I will give her a call. -
Sorry about doing this here but I just read that you are having email issues. I've been trying to order a pair of stock recone kits for my sa-12's for almost two weeks. I just assumed that you guys were really busy. How should I go about placing my order and getting a price quote for shipping? Again Im sorry about doing this on the smd forum.

Sa-8s fore mid-bass. Overkill?
RobertR replied to RobertR's topic in Sundown Audio - GREAT Amps/Subs! GREAT Customer Service!
Actually I had planned on hitting as many local shows as possible this year. I would eventually like to hit the lanes if I can get my shit together. Thats why I have been asking so many questions here lately. I could use all the help I can get. I havent been to a show since Brandsmart used to host them acrossed the street from the JOCO library. Any idea when the next show is? Or where I can look them up. -

Lol Kandiman71874. Sorry but Im not in blue valley. Not even in Jo co. I agree with placement being very important. The thing is I would prefer to use stock locations. Im not interested in doing a bunch of fab work on this car. It would be like polishing a turd and I have no idea how much longer I will be driving it. Im just going to throw some decent 6.5's at it and another amp and call it a day. Isn't Mission the yuppie capital of the metro area? -

Dropped the idea. Going to throw some decent 6.5's up front and leave the rear deck alone for now. Also thinking about selling the sa-12's after i get them reconed and switching to nightshades. -

So the sa-8's would be a little too much. Sonic i appreciate the advice but im not a fan of JL. -
Im getting ready to start building my next set up. Im running 2 sa-12s for for my sub stage. Im really considering running a pair of sa-8's in my rear deck for mid-bass. I have the room to flush mount them on my rear deck with the enclosures hidden inside my trunk. I was planning on running 800watts to them in seperate .28 cube enclosures. My question is will it be overkill?

sa 12 question

Anybody? -
So I decided to prep my subs tonight for a recone and found that they have two very different looking slugs. I looked a little closer at the motors and the large vent holes are slightly different also. Should I go ahead and recone or pick up a different motor?

sa-12 tinsle seperation?
RobertR replied to RobertR's topic in Sundown Audio - GREAT Amps/Subs! GREAT Customer Service!
Nope. The opening is pretty close to the same size as your mustang but the actual trunk area is much larger. The only metal that is in in my way cant be cut. Im going to have to figure out how to build it in the trunk. Thanks anyways. Ive been trying to find a box building guru in my area that would be willing to take a look and steer me in the right direction.
