walwalka Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 I would get some wood glue and saw dust pasted up in there and since you're planning on fiberglassing. Just resin over the top of it. Damn is the jacket cut all the way through? 2010 Honda Civic LX / Deck: Kenwood DDX371 / Front Highs: Crescendo RTS-1 / Front Mids: Silver Flute 6.5's / 4 channel: DC Audio 90.4 / Sub: Fi 15in SP4v2 / Sub amp: Taramps HD 5000 / Power wire: Knukonceptz OFC 1/0 / Deadener: Audio Technix 60 mil / Batteries: XS Power D5100R / Rear bank: TBD / Alternator: Singer 240a hairpin

Gonna wrap the hell outta it with electrical tape and make sure it isn't pinched this time. edit: would be a PITA to take that wire back through the great stuff foam just to run another wire or put some techflex on it :/ '01 Dodge Stratass Sealed Trunk Build Log 2008 Honda Fit Sport Build Log On 10/3/2013 at 10:00 AM, ROLEXrifleman said: Anyone who says they knew everything they wanted out of life at 19 can go suck a bag of dicks cause they are lying to themselves or brought up in a cult.
DubNDodge Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 Box is glassed will need to do the braces tomorrow. It was my first time working with the stuff, and damn it sucked. Total pita but hopefully it'll b4 worth it. Oh and stupid me. I assumed that resin could cure at 20 degrees.sorta but not good. So i had to put a space heater in there. Either way I'm happy with how it is. I'll update with pictures when I'm on computer. soundstream15 Posted February 16, 2014 Report Posted February 16, 2014 These hds300 get pretty damn low and have nice high bass as well. You will love them!!
DubNDodge Posted February 16, 2014 Author Report Posted February 16, 2014 First I wanted to get the bracing cut. Which had to be done in two pieces, because one would be a pita to get into position. so I cut 2 6" pieces (1 for each side) and then 7.5" and some change to see what all I had to shrink with. (inner height is 13.5") funny to find out the left side is like 1mm taller than the right lol. anyways got those figured out below. I put down cardboard to make sure my carpet didn't get resin on it. I had a feeling shit was gonna get messy quick. Glued the bracing next. DubNDodge Posted February 16, 2014 Author Report Posted February 16, 2014 glass glass glass glass glass glass glass glass that joint is terminated lol Thank goodness I put down that cardboard lol '01 Dodge Stratass Sealed Trunk Build Log 2008 Honda Fit Sport Build Log On 10/3/2013 at 10:00 AM, ROLEXrifleman said: Anyone who says they knew everything they wanted out of life at 19 can go suck a bag of dicks cause they are lying to themselves or brought up in a cult.
DubNDodge Posted February 16, 2014 Author Report Posted February 16, 2014 My original plan was to do all the joints, I even cut a strip for each one. well once I realized how much resin was used in that first strip I knew that wasn't going to happen. So then I just said screw it, did the most important ones (the top back) and then slapped on a ton of resin on all the sides and other joints. tomorrow I'll do the bracing. Not sure how I'll got about it. (wrapping it width wise or length wise) at least I now have a better handle on the nature of resin and mat. which is close to pine sap and tissue paper lol '01 Dodge Stratass Sealed Trunk Build Log 2008 Honda Fit Sport Build Log On 10/3/2013 at 10:00 AM, ROLEXrifleman said: Anyone who says they knew everything they wanted out of life at 19 can go suck a bag of dicks cause they are lying to themselves or brought up in a cult.
