141.6 DB 2X15 inch Targa Street series +

hi guys. please can you give me some advice?
i am in South Africa, i have a VW Citi Golf. i have 2x15 inch Targa Street Series+ in a slot port box. these subs are 2000w rms each.
i am running it off an Audio Bank 1500w rms monoblock amp.
i have a 90amp alternator, 72amp battery. 1x 4 farad Capacitor.
the last that i tested my car in an IASCA competition i pushed 141.6 DB.

is that a decent number for the setup that i have? i am going to hook up a 2nd battery and test again, but any ideas how i can get a better reading?

How is that measured? Mic placement, sealed up or not etc. Class?

Do you actually have propper space for two 15s ported in there?

Have som information about amp and wiring?

Might be decent for what you have, but not impressive for two 15s in a Golf imo.

well it was a spl testing. mic was placed bottom left corner of front glass not too much to the corner, they used the termlab meter.

class was rookie international hatch wagon. well the space is a squeeze hence the reason for facing the subs up. the amp is audio bank 1500w rms @ 1ohm.

running 4 gauge wiring for the amp. i dnt have any infor on the box, like the tuning specs.

I don't have any experience but 2 15s In a hatch (even with that much power) should do more. That 80 amp alt might be a weak link in your system. I wouldn't add another battery before the alt.... What voltage are you running on full tilt (max competition volume) another thing to confised would be your box, proper build, specs, freq, port area ect... I'd expect 2 15s in that on 1500?rms to do AT LEAST 143-144.... IMO

Yes, more factual information should help.

4 gauge is a small wire for that kind of power, though I have't found any propper info in your amp so I can't tell if it even does rated power.

I guess you profile image is your box? Port looks very small.

Are you looking to make the best of what you have, or spend a bit of $$, or a combination?

As for the 4gauge wiring, this amp can't take a 0 guage cable as the power input is small on the amp.

Yup that's my subs in the picture, there is no space left in the boot to make the box bigger,do you think I should try to put 4 inch round ports?

The amp is only a quarter way open, when I open more it goes in protect cos not enough power, I am going to install a 2nd battery and see how much difference it makes.

You can buy 0 gauge to 4 gauge reducers to fit the larger wire. Do you have a voltmeter installed? It would be useful to know how far your voltage is dropping. I'm going to assume the subs are wired at 1 ohm?

If you're talking about the gain, it's not a volume knob in that matter.

The gain is used to match the amp to the head unit's signal voltage. If the head unit has a high output voltage on the RCAs you can have full

output from you amp, even at quarter gain. Does that make sense?

Yes, good sized wires are important, and have you done "the big 3"?

Adding another battery can be a good idea.

Are you absolutely maxed out on space for the box?

This might be one of the scenarios where smaller subs could be better. You would have propper air and port volume, and maybe more options on sub/port orientation. I know you want to keep what you have, just letting you know.

But basically, beef up you electrical, and look into new enclosure possibilities.

Maybe some dampening too, if you have't done that allready.
