KickerKid58 Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 So I am helping my friend install a few LED strips into the interior of his Jeep wrangler. He had purchased a nice red/green lightup toggle for the lights aswell. I was going to try and tap into one of the two 12v plugs in his console (one constant and one that turns on with ignition to acc), but the fuse keeps blowing. First off, I know that these lights arent drawing 20 amps so does anyone have ony ideas what could be blowing the fuse? And I should not just up the fuse size, correct? But the REAL question thats been bugging me is how to get something to turn on with the ignition. Say i ran a fused 8ga power from the battery to a mini distribution block in the console for multiple accessories, and want individual toggle switches for each item. How can I get adequate power for accessories and still have the power cut when the ignition is off as a failsafe? KickerKid58 Posted February 21, 2013 Author Report Posted February 21, 2013 So I'm guessing thats +12v,Ground, and then one wire somewhere to an igntion wire and then the last wire is your 12v+ for the accessory?
