In order to do what? Just take a 9 volt battery.

And put it on the terminals of one side. Positive to positive negative to negative. The sub should pop outwards

yeah, terminals on the sub should be roughly just as wide as the terminals on the battery. touch it. if it moves, then the coil is likely good. if it doesn't move at all, coil is dead.
