How do i fix a "crack" in a hookah water base?

holy shit i didn't even notice this thread getting responses.

its a Mya hookah. but it has a threaded base/stem setup instead of the standard grommet. replacement bases are like $50-60 shipped from various sources online. my buddy (the one who cracked it on accident) found out that a whiskey bottle with some teflon tape works well as a temp setup. surprisingly really well LOL i couldn't believe it. he said he's gonna pay for the new one once he gets the cash though. i just figured i'd try to ask for some answers in case it was feasible. i guess it isnt haha.

i just literally bought this off of ebay for super cheap the other week. came with 3 bowls, 4 hoses, and a locking carrying case for $90. fuckin steal LOL.

Good luck with whatever you do with it. I hate it when a new piece breaks, i dunno if its better for you to break it or a friend... I think it is easier to forgive a friend than yourself.

If i was a little further along (had more skill) I would make you one. Hopefully one day i will be able to produce a quality peice of glass.

Either get a new vase or use a different one. I know you said a new vase is out the window, but you can find them for pretty cheap.

Once glass cracks: it has a high chance of cracking again. Like a crack on a windshield - once it starts there is no stopping it. It might be fine for some time then one day you go over a bump and it spreads. Except a hookah isn't safety glass. I'd hate to see it crack and you cut yourself or something, so I would just call it a loss.

oh i'm gonna get a new vase eventually. but its only whenever my buddy gets the cash for it. good guy friend took responsibility for his mistake. Mya has some threaded crap that they do which makes compatible vases much harder to find. they're like $55-60 shipped from the places i can find.
