beaker
^That. On older ones it will just erase everything though. If the computer was made after 2003-2004 it will be SATA. Which means it will plug into any other computer. If you get a new one, can I have the old one?
OrionStang
Alright, I'm back. Been house hunting for a few hours. Anyway, just restarted and I hit F8. Got a list of repair and startup options. I clicked "restart at last known point without error", something like that. It's been working hard for about 25 minutes, but still hasn't started up. OrionStang
Ok That didn't work. I am now on my laptop, started in "safe mode with networking". Can anybody tell me what to start troubleshooting from here? SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
OrionStang
OK, how about this, can someone tell me how to uninstall MS Office in safe mode? I found that an error occurred during an update attempt for Powerpoint. Now none of the Office 2010 programs work, cannot verify certificate. I want to remove it to see if that is the problem. I found that an error occurred during an update attempt for Powerpoint. Now none of the Office 2010 programs work, cannot verify certificate. I want to remove it to see if that is the problem. Can you get to the control panel > add/remove programs like when booted into normal windows mode? If so you should be able to remove it there. I haven't since safe mode in forever so I don't even remember what you have access to.
OrionStang
No, control panel only has a few options in safe mode. I thought you could right click a program in the program list on start menu, and there should be an uninstall option, but there's not for Office. OrionStang
Back on mobile. I found where to change the restore point. Changed it to the point before the failed update last night. So system restore is now running again, hope it works. beaker
If it doesnt you can check the event viewer (right click on computer and go to manage) and it will tell you what the blue screen error is.
