( theres 3 of them... 1 is a 12v amo, one is 16v capable amd anoter has SINGLE outputs) Some will work fine at 1ohm Ohther not so much. Guest Posted February 23, 2013 Report Share Posted February 23, 2013 those amps are only stable down to 2 ohms. 1 ohm is basically making each ap1500 work at .5 ohms. i'm willing to bet thats why its protecting. They are correctly wired to 1ohm the amps are stable down to 2 ohms. it says so right in the picture. you just said you are wired to 1 ohm. that is likely your problem. Sorry I am trying to follow what you mean. I still fully disagree. Each sub has its own ap1500 which shows is stable at 1ohm as in the picture. Nothing is bridged. Each channel is at 1ohm. Grounds are all 0 gauge on the frame and body bolted, and shaved pant off. What ohms are the subs and coil numbers. How many? Subs are quad 1 ohm coils, correctly wired to 1ohm each. Guest Posted February 23, 2013 Report Share Posted February 23, 2013 i always thought that the ap3000's internally bridged themselves. unless there are different generations that do different things. i may be wrong about it all then. teamace has a point. DMM the speaker terminals on the amp to see the resistance. that will tell you for sure. edit: i always heard that it was 2 ap1500's strapped internally. thats why i said that.
