so i am doing some clean up of wires and fixing of my platform that my sub box sits on, moving my amp.... guy at a shop told me i should move my box so that the ports fire at the driver side of the truck not the passager side, that it would be louder. is this true? so it got me thinking... should the box be all the way back to the gate as far as it will go? or all the way to the seats? and should i slide the box so that the ports have alot of room between them and the wall of the truck? or have the ports right up next to the side of the truck? i know people are going to say well test test test but i just wanted to see what others are doing. pic to help out with what i am talking about. 8C6F555B-7F0F-4045-8384-6104D00DDEBF-167

Try firing the ports towards the rear gate any side that they are mounted right now, two aeros for 6 subs.. must be big aeros I guess. Also 6 subs hardly can be wired to match the standard 1 ohm impedance..

to long to fire ports at gate. Have to fire at side, I didn't build the box a guy I know who works for a shop in my town built the box. It's 2 boxs with a extra baffle to hold them together. Each box has a 6" I think. Said they are at 32hz . On my dmm ohm load is 1.4

For the port, give it more room so move it further away from the wall (since im guessing from the picture their isnt too much room), my friend in his civic si made a little MDF part against the wall his port was facing so that it would roll off that instead of vibrating through the metal. So thats something you could try out as well

The spot with least resistance LOL.

I would ground to a rubber dildo if it had less resistance than a run of 4/0 wiring.

how many poeple work there 3 or 4 lol

At crescendo HQ? probably 2-3

At the sweatshop in china? 30,000 children

Those 6" port would need 6" of free airspace in front of them to work properly, I don't really think judging from the pic that you have the clearance.

I would just mod the box.

idk where your port is on that box, cant tell from pics. From my experience, about 6" away from back hatch if you're firing at the back, always fire to drivers side. I'm personally going with subs up port firing towards the driver side wall (not back). people have had a lot of luck. But yes, fire drivers side for loudness in the explorer.

c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old.

i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer.

ports are on the drivers side in the pic, I just moved it to that side before the pic but didn't hook it back up yet,

On the meter it will be louder firing to the driver side...but not necessarily to the ear. Like others said keep about 6-8in away from the side.
