sbg Posted February 27, 2013 Author Report Posted February 27, 2013 thanks! On the meter it will be louder firing to the driver side...but not necessarily to the ear. Like others said keep about 6-8in away from the side. 01 focus se 110 amp alt Big 3 sky high and stinger hpm ofc 1/0 Super start platinum AGM (starting) 2 runs of 1/0 Execution audio front to back Kenwood double DIN DDx271 A pillars- orion 4" super tweeter and 2-1" alpines. sbg Posted February 27, 2013 Author Report Posted February 27, 2013 u cnat see in that pic! i have 6'' + all i have to do is move the box around Those 6" port would need 6" of free airspace in front of them to work properly, I don't really think judging from the pic that you have the clearance. I would just mod the box. 01 focus se 110 amp alt Big 3 sky high and stinger hpm ofc 1/0 Super start platinum AGM (starting) 2 runs of 1/0 Execution audio front to back Kenwood double DIN DDx271 A pillars- orion 4" super tweeter and 2-1" alpines. Joe X Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 Then you are good if both ports have the 6" clearance, keep them driver side, the rest is what those subs can actually do and if the box specs are right for them. (that is even if the specs of the box are what they claim they are). 1 6" for 3 12s would be a choked port if those were SA-12s but maybe is right for those. Judging from the picture these should be the ones you have: http://www.hypnoticusa.com/products-detail.php?id=HT12%20/%20HT12D§ion=SUBWOOFERS So no specs other than 300W RMS? and 89dB sensitivity.. good for nothing.

Joe X Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 I would just call these guys up and ask them for box specs and then see what to change, port driver's side should be fine if you have the 6" of clearance.

Joe X Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 You are more than ok then, so just call them to know box specs, net volume, port area, tuning, the port area seems low 3 12s in a single 6" but who knows maybe these subs have 7 mm xmax and the port area would be fine.

fecupe2001 Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 Explorers get loud either way, personally i prefer ports facing driver side because it realeases a lot of stress from the hatch wich you can´t deadning at all because makes you quieter lol, i used 6 cheap ass 10´s and a 2K on a single battery a couple of years ago just for fun, subs were some shitty cadence fxw 250 watts , worst subs i´ve ever tested and i still burped a 149.3 @ 42 hz with 900 clamped watts iirc , i had 3 subs left, 3 subs right and 2 6" aeros facing back, here´s a video of that if you want to try it out... Fast forward to 0:58 so you can see the amplifier and box and then fast forward to 2:00 , a month later when i reached the 149.3 score i changed to 6 sony xplod 10´s and burped a 150.7 @ 43 hz lol I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains.
