inb4lock. In all honesty, if your stereo starts to distort, you're clipping. If you smell it starting to burn or it gets excessively hot, you're either clipping, sending too much power to it, or your box is inefficient. Best thing to do is bring it to your local stereo shop and have them properly set your gains if you can't figure it out yourself. The only RIGHT way is with a dmm at the very least. There's a couple topics on here how to properly set your gains. Do some research and read up. I don't see this topic really going anywhere except into a steaming pile of shit. Everyone's getting all angry and butt hurt and really not helping anyone.

This is gonna get locked.

What I meant by dirty songs is like Gucci mane-swing my door. Songs like that, that are clipped. Square sin wave. Even tho you have a clean single a square wave form can cause clipping. Your cd is fine and I'm sure it's clean bc they are bass heads:) find someone to set your gains correctly. Maybe playing well below tuning?? More information on your box would be helpful

it could be many things but sounds like clipping to me

Your 10w7 is at so much more of a level than a kicker cvr, you are likely clipping your JLw7 also and its just taking it because its built with much higher quality parts

that makes sense

Without music, life would be an error

Man you will be good to go if you just have someone set your gains. Just look up a tutorial from a credible source to do so if you want to try and do it yourself. Go out there take a look at put the subsonic at about half and put the gain at like 1/2 to 3/4 until you have time to get it looked at. Just to be safe you may want to stay closer the the half way on the gain. And the reason I say half on the subsonic is because that box is probably tuned pretty high.

no i am saying to turn it down until he has time to get it looked at that there is no clipping... Or just don't listen to it at all. You risk damaging your equipment more.
