Why do amps have settings that cause the amp to fry, protect,&shut off isn't that like putting a self destruct button on the amp?

They try to make amps as universally applicable as possible. It appeals to a larger market if they have settings on their amps that can be used for more than one application.

Same reason your car has a gas/brake pedal, steering wheel, and lights that turn on and off. You just need to know how to use them.

brand amps with brand subs doesn't mean anything lol. That's like saying you're gonna run RE subs on those badass RE amps they make hahahaha. If you set the amp settings correctly, and all your wires are good, amps won't fry, shut off or go into protect mode.

I need a start setting my own gains and running my own wires I've had 4 systems installs at 3shops last month and none of them last longer then a week

You have some great equipment, sorry you've had such bad experiences with it all.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
