Krakin
I appreciate your work tremendously! Is it possible though to make the depth (d1 and d2) 11 or even possibly 12 and still slot port up with subs up? Was really going to try and stay away from round ports if at all possible. If there are no other options then I can go with the round ports. I am getting sooo excited lol. I go to SC to play golf for 4 days on wednesday and when I get back they should be here and i can get started hehe. It is really much more simple to build it with aero ports made from pvc. If you do a slot port you have to work around all the different angles. It would just insanely hard to put together. If you really need the new dimensions I can try, but I have to say that was one of the harder boxes I've put together. But if I do it will be later tonight after I eat and have nothing to do haha Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . ncochran
Lol If it is that difficult to draw then I probably shouldn't be trying to build it I think I will go with the pvc ports and let them fire out the side. 2006 Scion xB 2 Sundown SA12D2 Ported at 32hz 147 on non termlab (140-142 on TL) Currently in a walled 4th @ 50hz (not metered yet) Hifonics brz2100 Alpine Type-S Components Kicker 300.2 Big 3 / Skyhigh 1/0 cca Optima Blue Top 3 e8s ported at 32hz 135.1 sealed on dash @ 56hz 135.0 outlaw (I must have chosen song poorly lol) Build log 'Brandon15zzz', on 09 May 2012 - 3:13 PM, said: May have been clipping but none fucks were givin. Krakin
Lol If it is that difficult to draw then I probably shouldn't be trying to build it I think I will go with the pvc ports and let them fire out the side. Fire out the back if there is more space behind the box. It's very easy to change that and you'll get much better performance. I'll get you some cut sheets after I eat. PS: I'm doing this cause I like getting more practice with the program I use. Krakin
is the sloped side of the box facing up or foward/backward? actually I hadn't even thought to ask that.. But either way it should be that big a deal for the ports should it? stroupe79
in most hatchbacks people run either.... subs up and port back...subs and port back....subs forward and port back really depends on testing to see what give you the best gains...I would try to make a rectangle box and avoid the hassle of putting the port on the slope if the box slope is facing up height1 13 x height2 11 x width 38 x depth 17 port 17 x 2.5 x 32 gets you tuning of 33.76hz with 2.6cubes and port per foot of 16.35sq inches f you did subs forward and port back or subs and port back in a regular slot ported box 12h x 38w x 17d port 10.5h x 3.5w x 30d gets you tuned @ 33.97hz with 2.33cubes and port per foot of 15.75sq inches same dimensions with subs and port up gives you 34.56hz tuning and 2.25cubes with ppf of 16.30sq inches these are with an extra baffle http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
stroupe79
what type of car is it going in?...maybe somebody on here has already figured out the best setup for sub and port directions in that vehicle and you can go from there... http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
ncochran
It is going in a Scion Xb. Are there any issues with building something like was posted above. It doesn't seem like the build would be too difficult, but I have only built 2 boxes in the past and one didn't work lol. 12d x 38w x 17h port 10.5h x 3.5w x 30d gets you tuned @ 33.97hz with 2.33cubes and port per foot of 15.75sq inches 2006 Scion xB 2 Sundown SA12D2 Ported at 32hz 147 on non termlab (140-142 on TL) Currently in a walled 4th @ 50hz (not metered yet) Hifonics brz2100 Alpine Type-S Components Kicker 300.2 Big 3 / Skyhigh 1/0 cca Optima Blue Top 3 e8s ported at 32hz 135.1 sealed on dash @ 56hz 135.0 outlaw (I must have chosen song poorly lol) Build log 'Brandon15zzz', on 09 May 2012 - 3:13 PM, said: May have been clipping but none fucks were givin. CleanSierra
I read through the thread for the most part. I have a Scion xB 2008 and not sure if that's what you're running, but I can help. First of all, you DON'T want a slot port on angled baffle. Aeros are a better choice in my opinion. That car will be fine with subs up port/s up. You CAN fire towards the rear hatch, but it will cause more rattles in my opinion. I wouldn't choose to fire the ports into the side of that cargo area either, it's a weird shape and its all plastic. You don't even NEED to do the slope on the box at all, we are only taking a cube and a half of space needed for those subs Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
