Lyferxb9s Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 I used to be a dealer for spyder and wouldn't recommend using them. They use morimoto 2.0 projectors and just aren't that great. Lots of quality control issues. Get a set of morimoto2.5s or better off ebay for like 50shipped and an HId kit from legitaccessories.com and you're good to go. Legit has a 5yr warranty on HIDs now
lkraft97 Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 if you want projectors with hids, i would suggest theretrofitsource.com and hidplanet.com forum. the people on hid planet are very helpful and friendly and the retrofit source is a great company to work with top notch customer support. i have done a retro with angel eyes on my 97 olds aurora. it is definitely a project but well worth the time and money. basically what you do is you are taking a raw projector, and fitting them into a your headlight. you can make your headlights look however you want and have upgraded lighting performance. personally i would stay away from manufactured headlights like from spyder because i have seen some horror stories of how bad the performance is of some of those type of headlights. i would definitely check out theretrofitsource.com for the highest quality projectors. if your interested in doing a retro, you can message me and i can help you get started and point you in the right direction. here are a few pics of my retro. this is about as simple as you can do. i have seen people do quad retros, custom shrouds, and leds. you can do whatever you want.

How much did it cost you to retro those? If it's cheap I might have to do that My Build Log Heros get remembered, but legends never die.
lkraft97 Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 the kit costs $270 plus $50 for the angel eyes. its not a cheap upgrade, but well worth the money. i mainly did it because i do a lot of driving at night and there are a lot of deer in my area. so this is just extra insurance to try and see them sooner and react quicker. this is about the cheapest complete kit that they got, but the more expensive kits have much better performance. i had to go with this kit because its the only projector that would fit in my tiny headlights without major modification. here is the kit that i got. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=227 it includes pretty much everything that you need to get it done.
