Jessica
Some people can hear lows better than others, plus one 18 on 1500 tuned to 34 might not be enough to play the lows like you want. Usually when people kill lows it's with cone area or a lot of power, and lower tuning. You might want to check you roof while you are playing lows to see if it is flexing a lot too, might have to deaden it. But then again, some people lose lows when the deaden the roof. Plus, you could try to lower the SSF like others have said Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. My super random youtube channel and terrible camera work. KiKaZz74
Roof doesn't move. Around 35-20 I get windshield flex. Under that I get minor door flex and back wall/ bed rail flex. But I might just have to deal with the lows. But the 138 at 57 hz??? Guys running 500 watts on a 12 were beating me... Tarball
I think its a combination of your box and gains. I did a rough measurement of your box and plugged it into torres and I come up with approximately 4.57^3 net and 38hz tuning. Thats way high if your trying to kill lows IMO. I imagine your sub is moving a lot on low notes but just isnt putting out much. At that tuning your should probably turn UP your ssf cause you are wasting power on notes your box isnt really designed to reproduce, that and the leakage isnt helping at all. kl0wn
I think you expected too much out of 1 18 on 1500 tuned at 34 to be honest. But at the same time the score you said you didn't just doesn't seem right at all... hell I did a 143@43hz with 1 18 Fi Q on a AQ1200 in an Explorer with a shit designed box. If I was you I would get another box designed by either RAM or BHE. Tarball
ideally you'll want to first address the possible clipping by having your gains set properly. If you want to keep the box its not going to be pretty, you can extend your external ports by 7" each - thats in addition to the existing external port. That will keep your net volume the same and bring tuning down around 33hz - then a ssf of 30hz is more appropriate. Probably better off with a new box tuned low from the start. kl0wn
You don't NEED to use a table saw. All you really need for basic basic building is a skilsaw and a jigsaw.
