Box Placement

I just built the box that Joe X gave me the specs for (12's up port back)... My question is "how far should the box be from the rear door on my blazer"

usually the width of the port. some vehicle are different tho. try port width first...then maybe 6in

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

I think I saw that, but that does not mean that is the best placement...

I wasn't trying to be smart with my comment... You are right Joe X did put the min distance to keep away, but I am asking if there is a distance that is the "sweet" spot to aim for... I know the test is tune is about the only way to find out, but also reaching out to other blazer installers if you have any info...

Didn't think you were trying to be smart or anything. I don't think that there is really much of a difference after the minimum. If it is any closer it may interact with the way the air travels in and out of the port.

Edit: Also is your back row folded down or do you just have a bunch of room to work with?

no worries... But didn't know if there would be a distance that would let it load up more...
