I have a fosgate R500-1D into a DVC punch 10" connected in parallel @2ohm.

Got a new deck installed and rerouted higher quality RCA. Everything works, clips at 49/50 (1kHz) and 50/50 (40Hz) so using 48. Gains set and frequencys are set at 80Hz overlapping 10Hz. I'm not getting the bass I feel I should be from the sub after setting deck EQ options. My bass amp starting clipping just as I started to increase gain from zero (barely 1/8 turn).

As I'll never be playing the deck at 48 volume (25 is kinda painful) could I reset the gains for, say 30 volume to get a better bass response?

Any other options I can take?

indeed you can.

Not really he'll just reach his max output point faster

The RCA Preout should match or not exceed the gain

So when you set it to 30 your reducing the RCA output so the gain positioning will go up

But your still getting the same results

Ok that makes sense, maybe it's my enclosure? I built it to .59 ft^3, iirc, which was the recommended optimum I got from the specs. Maybe I got it wrong and it's being restricted?

Any other ideas?

wait wait wait, Um, i have to ask this, it might sound stupid.

Are you using the rca outs on that head unit or the speaker outs?

Seeing as the volume is so low and it distorts before you get signal it just seemed like a good question.

Haha yes, the new deck has two outputs. RCA to component amp and separate RCA to bass amp.

Maybe you're misunderstanding me, I corrected the original problem...my head unit was bad. The new issue is with the sub not outputting what I think it should be, the front component set is working great.

I made a stealth box for the sub that fits behind the center console of my X-Runner (down facing sub with about 3" clearance over the u-joint hump). Reaching under I can feel the sub is moving a good bit but I'm not really feeling much of anything sitting in the drivers seat, which I think that I should be.

Anyone have any other ideas why I'm not feeling/hearing the bass?

Manual says a sealed box area can be from .5 to .85, with optimum at .59 ft^3

From what I can tell, my sealed stealth wedge2 box is .72 minus the speaker displacment of .088 should be .63 which is within that minimum and maximum area. The interior of the 3/4 MDF which was glued and screwed together is also siliconed throughly. I have true 4awg power wire running to the amp and new quality RCA cables. Everything should be working properly and I'm at a loss for where the problem is.

From reviews on Amazon and my own personal experience, this thing should be hitting hard.

Is it out of phase? Could also be bad RCA's happened to me before.
