bassinyerface Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 can ports be a different shape other than L like for example my sub box right now that i built has parallel walls. what i mean by parallel -------------------------------------------------------------------- l l l l l l l l -------------------------------------------------------------------- my boxs port is in the middle and i have 2 subs. i was just wondering if this is ok. ALSO! What is the triangle thing found in most middle shared ported box designs. it sits in the middle of the port opening at the back wall. umm any info on what it does and correct measurements to make won would be great thanks. 2003 f150, 2 ab hd 15 on brutus 2400.1, kinetik batt, big 3, knu wire, image dynamics cxs 6.5 with ppi tweets, pioneer 1din and clarion eq.
Krakin Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 a box like this? bassinyerface Posted March 14, 2013 Author Report Posted March 14, 2013 yes but insted of the L the extension comes off the back wall. you know what im saying? it parallel to the main port wall. 2003 f150, 2 ab hd 15 on brutus 2400.1, kinetik batt, big 3, knu wire, image dynamics cxs 6.5 with ppi tweets, pioneer 1din and clarion eq.
Krakin Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 This isn't to any set dimensions but is this what you were talking about? MrSkippyJ Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 i think he means ports exiting on the sides rather than the front. F150: Stock 2019 Harley Road Glide: Amp: TM400Xad - 4 channel 400 watt Processor: DSR1 Fairing (Front) 6.5s -MMats PA601cx Lid (Rear) 6x9s - TMS69
big dee Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 It's all about the length . It's only has a turn if need be to have the right length for tuning . So if the port turns its because of this .
Krakin Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 If you mean two ports coming out of each side this is what I imagined. If this isn't it then I'm off to sleep... MrSkippyJ Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 im guessing here as to what he means, but that ^^^ but the port doesn't go across the whole back. i really have no idea what he is asking. i thought i did but i was wrong. lol F150: Stock 2019 Harley Road Glide: Amp: TM400Xad - 4 channel 400 watt Processor: DSR1 Fairing (Front) 6.5s -MMats PA601cx Lid (Rear) 6x9s - TMS69
HypnotizedMind 91666 Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 I think he means an "M" shape out the front Where the next port walls are ADJACENT/PARALLEL and they curl back towards the front of the box in a million, trillion, kabillion years,i would never play that song in my ride. I don't care if its clipped or not LOL. I feel like my nads got clipped after playing this for 15 seconds just to see what it was LOL. No thanks bro. Not into it.
Jessica Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 that, or like this you can do wither of these, but with the first one the port width for the extensions has to be half the port width of the center port. in the second example keep the port width the same throughout. some people use 45's in the corners of these types but it isnt critical, if you use 45's in the corners make sure to keep the port width consistent throughout the corner by the way, that triangle is basically a 45.
