Krakin's Home Dipole Project

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

If you're on a desktop now, or using a laptop now and won't be using it again. Throw that HDD out on that list and get yourself a SSD, and use the old HDD you're on now as your storage.

Could work but then again you have to remember that most of the time the HHD is the bottleneck of the system. So even if he did have an SSD what he wouldn't put on it would still run slow.

Edit: That is if he has a slow HDD

Okay I have two builds. They both go up to $900. It is pretty dang hard to get a computer under that if unless you skimp out on the video card.

First option is more expensive but it has the nVidea 660 since you specified you wanted that brand.

*I already had windows 7 on there, take it or leave it idc.

Second option has the 7850 on it. Which has a 256 bit memory interface but doesn't have CUDA Cores. I don't think CUDA Cores really affect Inventor, possibly they will affect it if you are viewing in realistic view because of ray tracing. Idk but moving on here it is.

As you can see the nVidea build costs more. Both cards performed about the same I think the 6850 might be ahead but I'm not sure cause I haven't payed attention to the latest benchmarks on the two.

I do like that. I just prefer nvidia for driver stability and support. And 8gb ram good since rendering wants 12gb min.

Didn't really know how much rendering took, just figured you could add on that later if needed.

You'll want to go for a 660 Ti at the least for rendering. Also, please get a power supply from someone decent.

I've built one that you can get for $850 or less I'm sure as long as you shop around. It comes to $848 before shipping on newegg. It's at $867 with shipping so if you buy from a few different places for a bit lower and with free shipping you can make that budget. It does not though come with the operating system. Just torrent Win7 and save yourself the money and you'll have a great PC.

ASUS 660ti

ASrock Z77 mobo with sata 6gb/s and PCI 3.0
Cooler Master 500W PSU
Intel i7 3570k
WD 500GB 6gb/s HDD (you'll be fine with a 500GB drive, by the time it's full you can get something bigger if you actually need it)
12GB Corsair DDR3 1600
DVD burner, thermal compound, and case all included.
If you have no intention of overclocking the CPU, then drop down to a cheaper i5 that isn't unlocked to save a little bit of money. All the parts I picked are from great reputable companies that I've used either in personal builds or friends/co-workers builds that they've had no issues with. If you need help finding a good windows torrent you can PM me and I can even help you get it on the CD and installed if you haven't done that before. If you want my newegg wishlist just let me know and I'll be more than happy to send it. I can promise you with this build it will be a great gaming computer and a rendering monster. Will easily meet all your needs.
