How to cut perfect circles - Video Tutorial

Recommended Posts

In this video I show you how to cut a perfect circle for your car audio install:

What you need:

Router (Preferably a plunge, but I show you can use a normal one)

Jasper Circle Jig

Drill

3/16 Drill Bit

Wood to cut a circle into

The Jasper circle jig in the video is the Model 200. Search Google for "Jasper Circle Jig Model 200" to find it.

i thought it was gunna eb a way to do it without the Expensive jig

Make your own jig. I did. I use it all the time..and only drill the holes I need in it. I spend a little more time double checking measurements..but save money.

It got hated on in another thread because its wood...and not as high quality as the plexi ones or toolmake aluminum ones....but shit I could make aluminum ones for less then that and drill my own holes too.

Look in the T-line thread there is a pic in there on a porter cable router.

I used a wooden one for awhile that I had made, no shame in that, but once you start to make a lot of boxes, it makes sense to get one of the plastic ones.

mark even with a plunge router if you do not havea n absolute beast its best to do it in two passes as well. You'll burn up bits trying to cut too much wood at once.
