Recommended Posts

Does anyone no more less were the gain .low pass bass bost etc; settings should b at? The same for the 175.4 amp so that there not clipping.. I'm running 2 level 4.. 12" subs. In a ported box tuned to I think 33 or 32hz...if that helps.. I just hooked it up to mess with it & its clipping. . I just put two 6x9 to hear it cuz my MEZZOs still havnt arrived but figured I can set the 2k amp. Any help would b much appreciated! Thanxs

only way to know is with a DD-1 or oscope.. every head unit is different so every amp has to be setup differently

great u mean more shit I gotta buy.lol. I have a avh.p4300dvd..I guess I figure it out. That clipping lite can never b shining at all? If I pull the knob of I won't see it clipping. ..hahaha jk.

Only way anyone can get you even close is if they own a dd1 / oscope and have your same headunit (to find clipping point) and even then they could only help with the gains if they had your same headunit AND amps even then it wouldn't be exact. 6v pre outs means generally lower gain, between no gain and 14% gain. 4v pre outs means low gain also but higher then 6v settings, generally 15% to 20% and 2v pre out is the base line on aftermarket headunits and they normally require 21% to 40% gain.

All of that is not reliable, and is only to give you an idea how the output voltage of your headunit effects your gain settings assuming you know exactly where the volume clips on the headunit. Generally I'd set everything half of what I recommended above to your matching output voltage just to be safe till you find some way to do it properly.

Once you do, simply find the clipping point with a -0db tone on 1k and on 40hz, pick the lower of the numbers. And then use -5db 1khz to set the gain on your 175.4 and use -5 or -10 for your 2k.

If someone tries to flame over the above on gains, that was me really trying to at least get him started but still safe till he can do it properly

See if someone in your area has a DD1 or a o-scope and see if they can help you out
