Kicker makes their boxes specifically to their subwoofers required air space. You can get better than kicker, and they don't make any special boxes. I wasn't saying they were special boxes, but thank you for the helpful criticism sonic actually made a few videos comparing the premade kicker boxes with custom made boxes and the custom made boxes came on top but if u really don't care a package deal would be great for a beginner.. For a $400 budget u need to ask yourself what kind of quality are u looking for

I'm not saying the box or amp are all that great, but for that budget, those subs can do some work. I had them before my setup and yeah. But it's as they say up above... $400 is for what? entire setup, for subs and amp, for what exactly? Sheena = pedobear
Tim Osburn Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 please guys dont laugh at this statement im not proud to admit it but it might be helpful. when i first started out with my first system i went to walmart and got a set of sony xplodes i think they were 12s maybe 10s and a cheap amp for around 350. it sounded good at the time because i wasnt used to hearing anything at all but that might be a option to get you started. right now i have 2 12in type r's in a ported box with 2 alpine m500 amps and it sounds really good. you can pick up one 12 and 1 amp and the box for $500 and you will get a decent sounding system. go to a few different audio shops check out everything that they have to offer in your price range to find a good match for what you want. just remember the higher power your system is the more its going to cost. bigger wire is alot more amps cost more subs cost more. hope that helps
